THANK GOD IT'S NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad the horrible month of October is behind me...that was a hard month for me.

So, have you ever noticed the weird looks people get on their faces? I was sitting staring out my office window today watching the various people pass by my office window, and I decided they all had unusual weird looks on their faces! I am talking about that person who is walking along and has a weird grin and seems oblivious to their surroundings or that other person who has a frown and seems like they are arguing with someone who is not there?? I don't know what these people are doing but they look goofy! I love people watching though.

My favorite people watching moment (more like several days) was from my hotel balcony in La Jolla, California this summer! Speedo Squeeze Beach! I will talk about that wonderful human behavior experiment on my next blog or upcoming blog.

I like when the Brit's say "Happy Christmas"!!! I am going to put "Happy" in front of everything like "Happy Divorce" and "Happy Wedding"!!!

By the way, if you haven't already, go BUY or RENT The Holiday!!! It is a great movie!! While you're at it, go RENT or BUY Love Actually as well!!! I love the Brit's!! On BBC America, their tag line for their commercials is "A Little Brit Different"!!! I find that extremely amusing!!

Out With The Old...

....and IN with the new!!! I just spent the last 4 days with my good friend Yoli and we ate, shopped and had fun! But in this exciting mini-trip, I realized something about myself....nothing drastic....I just discovered I need a change!! I don't know what change I am even talking about here but something has to give and I will let you all know when I figure out what that is!!

Burn Baby, Burn

OK.......I had a revelation today that seems to make sense to me.

Here in the Phoenix Valley lies an issue that happens at the start of every winter and continues until the spring - it's called BROWN CLOUD. Apparently there is not enough wind in the winter through spring time to blow the hazardous materials that burn from people's fireplaces. I guess 6 months of 120 degrees isn't enough for most people so they need to burn wood in their fireplaces for heat. There are certain days when it is illegal to have a fire roaring in your fireplace but I don't think that's enough.

That got me thinking...what is the point of BURNING wood in the fireplace?? It's not for warmth because there are many other ways to get warm or make your house warm. I don't understand the whole concept. It's the 21st century now and our ozone layer and rainforests are depleting; so we cut down trees so you can have a smokey fire in your living room? Wood is actually imported into Phoenix because there are no real trees here to cut down for firewood.

There is no longer a need to burn wood. It is a waste of this planets resources and I know this might sound radical, but I think burning wood or anything for that matter in your fireplace should be illegal. It's just simply not practical anymore for many reasons.

So, those are my thoughts on that.

Stay Where You Are!

I decided to leave work early today...boy was there NO point in that!

On my usual way home (I only live about 10 miles away from my office and take surface streets the whole way), I encountered yet another act of STUPIDITY in ARIZONA!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently there had been an accident in the intersection involving 3 cars. Nothing major. So, what do you think the brilliant law enforcement and rescue teams did? That's right, they left the accident RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION where it happened!!! The retarded law out here is that NO MATTER what happens, you STAY right where you are when you have an accident. Whether that accident is in the #2 lane of the freeway, an intersection, in the middle of the road, it doesn't fucking matter, you STAY WHERE YOU ARE!!! So, instead of my usual 15 minute drive home, it turned into a 25 minute nightmare because they wouldn't let you go through the intersection or even around the accident!! I had to either turn left into a residential neighborhood or right into the mall!! Of course everyone had to take this detour at about 1mph, so I was screwed either way!

Just another example of stupid AZ RULES!!!!!! BTW.........the NEW RETARDED law is now in effect here that you CAN'T TEXT, EMAIL or IM while driving!! I have a Sidekick 3, it has a full keyboard and typing is easier on that then it is on a regular keyboard! So, that pisses me off too and I still do it, but now I have to keep an eye out for cops watching me do it!!

Weird Stuff in AZ

AZ is so weird and has weird experimental stores! For example, I passed by a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market Store the other day! The store is the size of a CVS pharmacy and only has some grocery and drugstore items. They must also be the only the state that still has free-standing Waldenbooks & More stores & McDonald's Express!! It's just a different country here!

On a Serious Note...

As many of you know, my Grandmother had a stroke on July 15th, 2006 and passed away on October 31st, 2006. What you may not know is that her only sister Laura, lost her husband of 65 years in June of this year. A week later she suffered a heart attack.

It was touch and go there for a while but luckily she pulled through. She has had several setbacks since then and most recently a fall in her front yard that put her back in the hospital and then a nursing care facility because she cracked her pelvis bone. Anyway...below is an update from my cousin who has been wonderful enough to spend so much time with her over the past 4 months. I wished I lived closer.

It was hard enough loosing my Grandmother last year and now all this with my Great Aunt around the same time of year has been very difficult. Thanks for taking the time reading this and take care of yourselves.

As some of you know and some of you don't, my grandmother fell on September 17th and has been in the hospital and then in a nursing facility because she cracked her pelvis in 2 places on her left side. Since then, I have been back down here in Concord, CA off and on visiting her, taking care of things around the house, bringing her changes of clothes, etc.

On this past Monday, she was released! (into my care) So here goes the rest of the report:

Well, Grandma IS home and doing pretty well with her "tough love" physical therapist granddaughter. Heh Heh

She definitely does need someone here still though. We get up approximately every 3-4 hours during the night for help with the restroom, getting water, etc. etc.

Walking to the bathroom from the living room is a much further walk than it was from her facility bed to the bathroom (her bed was even the closest one TO the bathroom at the facility) so by late evening, her legs just "won't work" as well to get her to bed. The first night it required walker, wheelchair, etc. etc., I managed to get her to bed because we both thought she'd be more comfortable there. From that night, she's been able to walk herself there with the constant assistance of the walker. (She has to use the walker to walk anywhere right now due to the pain of her cracks.)

She has an appointment with orthopedics on October 15th.
Meanwhile, she's been able to walk further and a little bit more and a little bit more each day and is slowly weaning off of her pain pills. She had been taking them "round the clock" every 6 hours but has managed to stretch it to about 8 hours now so we're getting there!

I'm not sure how long I'll be here, but I WILL be home (Klamath Falls) NEXT weekend (13th, 14th, etc.) My folks will come to be here for her that weekend. After that, if Grandma still needs help, I'll be around during the week, and she'll hire someone for her for weekends.

Why is it that people complain about everything all the time yet NEVER do anything about it?!

If you are unhappy or hate your job, quit.

If you haven't received a promotion in 5 years, quit, get a new job that pays more - that's your promotion.

Never have any money because you are the only one who works in a family of 3 adults? Quit your job, then they'll have to work! What's it matter when you don't have any money anyways? Also, if you don't have any money you shouldn't buy new cars, electronics etc.!

If you hate the state you live in, sell your house and move back to hick town USA where you came from and get out of overpopulated CALIFORNIA.

I have done MOST of the above mentioned and am I complaining??? NO!

I See RED!

OK.....if you don't live in Arizona or have never visited here, you have NO idea about the drivers here!

They are quite possibly the FREAKIEST and STUPIDEST drivers on the planet!! I will just give you one example that happens everyday, but today was funnier that most.

So, for whatever reason, people here don't believe it going through yellow lights. I don't know if they think they'll die or be decapitated or burst into flames if they go through one, but its remarkable that only 2% of the drivers here go through yellow lights. There are accidents every day from people that have slammed into the back of cars because they slammed on their brakes for a yellow light.

Well, today this one idiot (I took the dumb dick's picture) was sooooooo afraid of going through the yellow light, that he slammed on his brakes, stopped in the middle of the intersection, backed up and there her sat in the crosswalk. The whole time he did this the light was STILL YELLOW!!!!!! OMG!!! Are you kidding me!! MORONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

October Skies

I am so thankful October is finally here!! It means it's finally below 100 degrees everyday and below 95 at night!

However, with October also brings some bittersweet emotions. Halloween used to be my favorite holiday until last year when my Grandmother passed away on that day. So, I am trying to be excited over it, but I am dreading each day that gets closer to October 31st. We'll see how I do.

It happens at 5:49pm. The exact date is still unclear. It starts with the skies turning a dark purple, clouds covering the sun, complete darkness in a matter of seconds. The ground begins to shake uncontrollably for what seems like hours. A FLASH of brilliant light comes from the sky, piercing the purple skies and clouds. A radiation wave hits the Earth. Everyone is thrown to the ground. The sun has shrunk and is now a deep burnt orange with black spots and veins running through it. Something is coming through the clouds. It’s almost blinding. It hits the Earth with enormous force. Then another and another until soon the entire sky is orange with flames striking every parcel of ground. Everyone runs for cover but there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. The end of the world is upon them. More radiation waves and meteors hit. Complete and utter devastation that everyone has warned the citizens of Earth would happen from are destruction of this planet has occurred. There is no turning back now. Our only hope is to survive!

By the way, what you just read was my dream from last night. Interpret it any way you want, but I know what it means and everyone should be prepared as much as they can.

All in a Hard Days Work!

Well...I wouldn't call waking up at 11am then not actually starting my work until 1:30pm and now being done at 4pm, but I wanted you all to feel sorry for me when you read the title!!

I have the best job that I've ever had and I can NEVER go back to working for anyone ever, ever again!!!

Oh, btw....I used my FREE Blizzard coupon from Dairy Queen today! I love DQ and it's about a 1 minute drive from my house. This has been VERY dangerous for me in the last 8 months that I've lived here as you can imagine! Gosh, I've been here 8 months already??? That's insane....it hasn't felt like it!

Beautiful Day

Today was LONG!! I had to help Bruce clean pools which I do NOT do nor have I done before but for reasons that are too long to explain here, that's what I did for most of the day today! I am not cut out for manual labor - my feet are killing me, I am exhausted and every muscle I didn't know I had is SORE!!

I did see the most wonderful house I have ever seen however! I won't go into the details as you will kill yourself hearing them, so just know the guest house was as big as my last 3 apartments combined!!!! The master bedroom closet was the size of a football field - it was insane!

I am going to bed early now...GOODNIGHT!

Broken Bones - UPDATE

Update::::

My mom went to the foot doctor today and he said the bone will heal by itself in about 6 weeks and she doesn't need surgery and he said she could actually walk on it! Knowing my mom, she will milk the wheelchair for all its worth for as long as she can!! So.....good news.

COFFEE, COFFEE, COFFEE!!!

How many ways do I love coffee?? I love HOT coffee with Coffeemate creamer (preferably Crème Brule or Hazelnut flavors), I love it all blended up cold, I love it iced and I love coffee beans covered in chocolate too!!! I have a coffee grinder that I use everyday and there is nothing better than freshly ground coffee!!!!

Why am I so excited about coffee this morning you ask?? Because I went to Coffee Plantation (a chain coffee place out here that sells the best food too) this morning for breakfast and got the BEST iced coffee I’ve ever had!! I could drink 10 of these today – but alas, I won’t…just the one. I love coffee but I only drink about 1 cup a day….I don’t want to be one of those crazy bastards that has to have 15 blended coffee’s everyday from Starbucks (you know who you are if you are reading this)!!!!

So…………………………..me loves COFFEE!!

Broken Bones

So.......I was about to head out of the house this morning for work when my Mom called and said she fell over a pebble and thought she had broken her foot. She's VERY dramatic so I didn't think much of it...until she went to the doctor and came into the office with crutches, a boot thingy and in a wheelchair!! So.........for the next who knows how long things are going to SUCK around here and work!!! So, if I am moody, you'll know why!!!

Sunday Mornings

I can't believe it's Sunday already....I HATE when the weekend goes by so fast!

Well, usually I am not up this early on a Sunday, but my Mom is making breakfast and I don't want to miss it! Then I will most likely watch some TV/DVD's and do laundry all day - I know, I have such an exciting life!

The 1st Time

Wow. This is my 1st time blogging (well, if you don't count myspace), but I do plan on trying to post things on here every day if I can.

So...........these postings might be random thoughts, experiences, or just how much I hate people....you just never know. Enjoy or don't, I really don't give a shit!!
